Born March 31, 1956 in Los Angeles, California, David passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Tishomingo Manor in Iuka, MS. David Edward Stevens aka Uncle Dave was one of the most interesting men to ever live. Free spirit, hippie, fun, unique, class clown, deaf (in 1 ear), ASL signer, Crazy Dave, radio DJ, hitchhiker, college football defensive lineman at only 165 lbs, surprisingly strong, Wolfman, tough, construction worker, roofer, historian, civil war reenactor, sutler, manager, Entrepreneur, franchisee, chef, caterer, reupholster, perfectionist, movie star, actor, stuntman, axe thrower, dancer, musician, Bluegrass lover, washboard & bass tub player, always on the go, never still, costume designer, tailor, outdoor lover, backyard architect, gardener, flower enthusiast, ladies man, genuine, likable, lovable, and handsome with the best hair in any room. The Life of the Party and an extremely fierce fighter. Someone recently said he was a Corinth Icon. If you knew him you loved him, if you didn't then you simply missed out. David is survived by his son, Andy Stevens (Natalie); daughter, Amber Phillips (Hunter); 4 grandchildren, Braxton Stevens, Bowen Stevens, Journey Phillips and Jersey Phillips; sisters, Barbara Bray and Lisa Rees (Brent); best friend, Alice Nix; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Chares Stevens; mother, Mary Miller Barkley; brothers, Dan Arthur and Donald Stevens and his sister, Sue Davis.
