A graveside service with military honors for David McKee, 79 of Corinth, MS, will be Friday, April 23, 2021 at 2:00 P M at White Sulphur Cemetery with interment to follow. Rev. Wesley Basden will officiate the service. Mr. McKee passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his residence. He was born November 19, 1941 in Ooltewah, TN to Dewitt Earnest McKee and Floy Maude Splann McKee. He attended Farmington Baptist Church and served his country in the Air Force. He graduated from Alcorn Central High School in 1961 and Copiah-Lincoln Junior College in Wesson, MS with an Associate Degree. He married Mary Killingsworth McKee on January 10, 1966 in Florence, AL. David spent most of his career in sales. Some might remember him from his time working at Smith Home Center’s carpet store in Corinth, MS. He enjoyed talking with the people that came in through the years. His greatest joy after retirement was spending time with his family, outings with his siblings at Pickwick Lake and playing with his great grandchildren and watching them grow. David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Killingsworth McKee; his son, Adam McKee; his daughters, Lorie McKee Burks (Mike); Anita McKee Williams and Amanda McKee; 6 grandchildren, Hayley Smith Ford (Matt), Heather Smith Smith (Thomas), Holly Williams, Addison McKee, Abby Burks and Allison Burks; 3 great grandchildren, Michael Ford, Mattie Ford and Mollie Smith; brothers, Jack McKee (Sandra) Kenneth McKee (Wanda) and Eddie McKee (Angie); sister, Shelia Spoon (Tommy); sister-in-law, Jane McKee; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Dewitt Earnest McKee; his mother Floy Splann McKee and his brother, Danny McKee. Pallbearers will be Thomas Smith, Matt Ford and Mike Burks.
