A Graveside Service for Charlotte Lavonne McAlpin, 69 of Corinth, MS, will be Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Magnolia Gardens. Due to the pandemic and out of concern for the family and friends, the service will be private. Greg Woodruff will officiate the service. Mrs. McAlpin passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was born February 24, 1951 in Corinth, MS to Vinice Essary and Hurley Bragg Essary. She retired as a school teacher for the Alcorn County School System after 29 1/2 years of teaching and was a substitute teacher for the Corinth City Schools for 11 years. She graduated from Kossuth High School and received a Masters Degree from MS State University. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Charlotte is survived by her brothers, Ladrone Essary and wife Carol of Corinth, MS and Kenneth Essary and wife Pam of Corinth, MS; her sister, Sheila Tsagarakis of Corinth, MS; her nieces and nephews, Clarissa Mills (Scotty), Jason Essary (Lindy), Whitney Seago (Mike), Demmy Tsagarakis, Carleigh Mills, Kenner Mills, Ki Seago and Christopher Hutcheson; special friends, Patsy Wicks and Christopher Wicks; other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Vinice Essary and her mother, Hurley Bragg Essary. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Charlotte Lavonne McAlpin.
