A Celebration of Life service for Charlie Q. Browning, 83 of Corinth, MS., is set for 2 pm Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Oakland Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8 from 5-8 pm at Magnolia Funeral Home – East and from 12-2 pm Thursday, January 9 at Oakland Baptist Church. Dr. Randy Bostick and Bro. Raybon Richardson will officiate and Jimmy Calvary and Wayne Prince will offer eulogies. Pallbearers will be Wayne Prince, Kevin Downs, Wayne Odle, Jerry Hammett, Jerry Little, John Hussey, Steve Simon, Manuel Franco, Jimmy Neal Gafford, Mike Browning, Chuck Browning, Tony Browning, Ron Browning, Randy Stacy, and David Miller. Honorary pallbearers include the staff and deacons of Oakland Baptist Church, members of Wayne Prince Sunday school class, staff and employees of Magnolia Funeral Home, Jeff Rencher, James Larry Cornelius, Bobby White, Billy McKelvey, Jim Calvary, Lowery Gailor, Tommy Irvin, Larry Ross, Gary Clausel, Tim Miller, Steven Odle, and Arie Vance. Born July 9, 1941 in New Albany, MS, Charlie passed from this life into eternity on Monday, January 6, 2025 at his residence. His life was marked by a dedication to his career, his military service, and a deep commitment to family, faith, and community. A graduate of Mississippi State University, Charlie earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting before embarking on a distinguished career. For 28 years, he served as the Manager of the Credit and Collection Department at ITT Telecom, where his professionalism, outgoing nature and integrity earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike. In 1993, he became one of the five original founding partners of Magnolia Funeral Home. His commitment to the community continued as he worked there until 2017, helping families during their most challenging times with compassion and care. In addition to his impressive professional achievements, Charlie proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve and the U.S. Army National Guard. His sense of duty extended beyond his military service, as he was an active member of Gideons International, working to share the message of hope and faith with others. Charlie was also a member of Corinth Lodge #116 F & AM, where he fostered friendships built on mutual respect and shared values. He was known for his warm spirit and enthusiasm for life, deeply cherishing the time spent with his family, church family, and friends. He often expressed how blessed beyond measure he was and generously shared stories about the goodness of God in his life. His legacy is carried on by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Charlie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Brenda Bowen Browning; his son, Jeffery Lane Browning (Sylva Lin); his daughter, Stephanie Browning Booker (Joe); his godson, Christopher Scott Miller; his sisters-in-law, Dale Browning, Martha Ann Browning, and Kay Browning; numerous nieces, nephews, his wonderful extended Bowen family, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Odell and Sally Hearn Browning; his brothers, Travis C. Browning, Charles “Graden” Browning, and Earnest “Lavern” Browning; his sister and brother-in-law, Mildred “Sue” Browning Gafford (Jimmy Brooks). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sharing Hearts @ First Baptist Church 501 Main St Corinth, MS or the Amen Food Pantry @ PO Box 101 Corinth, MS 38835. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Charlie Q. Browning.
