Charles Edward South

Charles Edward South, 74, of Rienzi, MS, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at New Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church in Cairo, MS. Bro. Jack Whitley and Bro. Terry Booker will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church in Rienzi, MS. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at New Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church, Cairo, MS, from 5:00 PM--8:00 PM, and on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, from 10:00 AM until service time. Visitations and service will be at New Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church in Cairo, MS. Mr. South was born in Prentiss County, MS, on April 25, 1943. He retired after 22 years of service as a machine operator at ITT. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of New Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church in Cairo, MS. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Whittemore South, of Rienzi; one daughter, Valinda Williford and husband Keith of Rienzi; four grandchildren, Katelyn Emerson and husband Austin, Jonas Williford, Jackson Williford, and Jake Williford; two brothers, Truman South and wife Betty of Burnsville, MS and Noel C. South and wife Janice of Iuka, MS; one brother-in-law-Garvin Walker of Tishomingo, MS, along with other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his Father, Estes South; Mother, Audie Belue South; Brothers, J.T. South, Wallace South, Bobby South and Mackey South; and Sisters, Earnestine Trimble and Melvoline Walker. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Charles Edward South.
