Charles Edward "Perk" Palmer

Charles Edward "Perk" Palmer, 72, of Rienzi, MS passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born in Booneville, MS on April 20, 1944 to the late Mitchell and Zelma Hearn Palmer. Perk was employed with Wurlitzer and ITT as an electronic technician for many years and retired after working for Corinth Gas & Water. He loved to sing and praise the Lord with his music. He was song director for Rienzi Baptist Church for over 30 years and an active deacon at Rienzi Baptist Church for over 40 years. Perk enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for 5-8 PM Saturday, July 30, 2016 and 1 pm until service time Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Rienzi Baptist Church. A celebration of Perk's life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Rienzi Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Titus Tyre, Bro. Charles Cooper, Bro. Frank Wilson and Danny Beavers. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Jerry Palmer, Harold Palmer, Paul Palmer, Mark Morelock, Bobby Connor, Rodney Palmer. Honorary pallbearers include the deacons and the Adult Couples Sunday School Class of Rienzi Baptist Church. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Perk's memory include his beloved wife of 52 years: Peggy Palmer of Rienzi, MS; his son: Jeff Palmer of Corinth, MS; his grandchildren: Kaylee Ann Palmer and Chase Danielle Palmer; his mother & father-in-law: Inez and Bro. Frank Wilson of Rienzi, MS; his sisters: Gladys Wigginton of Thrasher, MS, Emmie Lou Lovell and husband Ray of Thrasher, MS and Gloria Henry and husband Joel of Tupelo, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law: Ruble Wigginton.
