Rev. Charles K. McGill, 74, of Booneville, MS passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Rush Foundation Hospital - Meridian, MS. He was born in Florence, AL on March 5, 1942 to the late Johnnie Earl and Lorine Linsdey McGill and retired as an electrician with TVA and was a member of IBEW Local 558. He served as a clergy with the United Methodist Church. Visitation is scheduled for 5-8 PM Friday, October 7, 2016 and Noon until service time Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Liberty United Methodist Church. A celebration of Charles's life will be held at 1 PM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Liberty United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Jason Franklin and Rev. John Moore. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Charles's memory include his sons: Rev. Kenny McGill of Meridian, MS, Ken Patten (Monti Sue) of Booneville, MS and David Patten of Booneville, MS; 6 grandchildren: Bart Patten, Bret Patten, Anita Greenhaw, Chris Patten, Samantha Pitts, and Kendyl McGill; 8 great-grandchildren; his brother: Maurice McGill (Sue) of Rogersville, AL; his sister: Betty Henson (Ronnie) of Muscle Shoals, AL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years: Anita June McGill; a son: Charles W. "Pat" Patten Jr.; and a sister: Alice Marie Wallace.
