Charles "Charlie" Kenneth Mathis

A Celebration of Life service for Charles “Charlie” Kenneth Mathis, 58 of Walnut, MS, will be Friday, March 18, 2022 at 2:00 P M at Camp Ground Methodist Church in Walnut, MS.  Interment will follow at Camp Ground United Methodist Church Cemetery.     Minister Kenny James and Bro. Tommy Garrett will officiate the service with Bro. Gary Porterfield delivering the eulogy.  Visitation will be Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 5:00 P M to 9:00 P M and Friday, March 18, 2022 from 12:00 P M until service time at Camp Ground United Methodist Church.  Mr. Mathis passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at Magnolia Regional Health Center.  He was born October 22, 1963 in Ripley, MS to Kenneth Mathis and Polly Smith Mathis.  He was a retired machinist for the Dirt Cheap Warehouse and was of the Church of Christ faith.  He loved hunting and fishing.  Charlie is survived by his sons, Ben Mathis and wife Megan and Matt Mathis; 2 grandchildren, Jerry Mathis and Meila Mathis; his brother,  Kandal Mathis and his sisters, Kim Holt and husband Joe and Debbie Lormendez and husband Jesus; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Mathis; his mother, Polly Smith Mathis and his sister, Teresa Hernandez.  Pallbearers will be Austin Zills, Nathan Zills, Jesse Collins, Jeff Null, Jimmy Tate Waldon and Ricky Morphis.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Charlie Mathis.
