Cathy Diana Spain

Cathy Diana Barkes Spain, 69, of Corinth, MS passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 at Tishomingo Community Living Center. Due to Cathy’s wishes, no services will be held. She was born November 6, 1953 in Williamson, West Virginia to William and Armada Akins Van Hoose.

Cathy is survived by her daughter, Tasha Gilley; stepson, Joe Barkes; grandchildren, Ashly Roman, Madison Gilley, McKayla Gilley, Joshua Gilley, Hunter Barkes, Byron Barkes, and Dena Triplett; step grandson, Dakota Barkes; sister, Sandra Collier (Bill); brother, Troy Van Hoose (Shirley); sister-in-law, Angie Van Hoose; lots of nephews and nieces, and her dearest friends, Donna and Kenny Miles, and Deacon Billy Taylor of Oakland Baptist Church, where she was a member. 

Cathy was preceded in death by her son, Troy Barkes; parents, William and Armada Van Hoose; sister, Flora (Jeannie) Newsome, and brother, Enoch (Eddie) Van Hoose.

Cathy will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Cathy Spain.
