Carolyn Dyson Phillips, 56, of Tupelo, MS, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo. She was born in Hickman, KY on October 26, 1960 to the late Larry and Delores Faye Gilliam Dyson and was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. Carolyn enjoyed reading, cross stitching, playing cards and her beloved cat Stinker, but her real love was her family, especially her grandchildren. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she loved. Visitation is scheduled for 5-9 PM Saturday, August 12, 2017 and from 12 Noon till service time Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Bro. Jay Knight and Bro. Malcolm Garrett. Interment will follow in Wheeler Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Terry Phillips, Glen Phillips, Jacob Jones, Thomas Holloway, Michael Comte, Leman Phillips. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Carolyn's memory include her husband of 35 years: Billy Joe Phillips of Tupelo, MS; her daughter: Stacey Shewbart and husband Tim of Tupelo, MS; her precious grandchildren: Kateleigh Shewbart and Harper Shewbart; her sisters: Debra Comte and husband Patrick of Smyrna, TN and Patricia Jones and husband Steven of Olive Branch, MS; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her stepson: Joe Phillips; and her brothers: Larry Dyson, Robert Dyson, Michael Dyson, and Darrell Dyson.
