Raybon Roseberry, 84 of Hueytown, Al., formerly of Rienzi are set for Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 2:30pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - SOUTH on HWY 45 South with interment in Magnolia Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 12:30pm-2:30pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - SOUTH. Rev. Donald Roseberry will officiate the service. Born December 23, 1940, in LaFayette Springs, MS., Bro. Raybon passed from this life into eternity on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at UAB Medical Center- West in Bessemer, AL. He played baseball in high school and was given the opportunity to try out for the St. Louis Cardinals before he had to end his playing career. He continued to love the sport throughout his life and was a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan.
Bro. Ray was a deeply spiritual man who loved Jesus all his life. At age 18, he felt God calling him to preach. He answered the Lord's call, beginning an evangelical ministry. His work as a preacher encompassed radio appearances and numerous revivals. Bro. Ray traveled around the country to host revivals in several states. He met his wife, Dorothy, at a revival he held in Mississippi in 1960. They married shortly after and enjoyed 64 years together.
He was a profoundly good-natured and kind-hearted man. Bro. Ray loved his family deeply and did everything in his power to support them. That kindness extended to everyone he met, as he tried to always be helpful and caring, showing God's love to all around him. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family, telling stories and sharing a laugh. He enjoyed the simple pleasure of a good meal as well, proclaiming them regularly to be the best meal he ever ate. His wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his world and they will miss him dearly.
Bro. Ray is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Corbin Roseberry; sons, Ronnie Roseberry and Rick Roseberry (Belinda); daughter, Sherri Stapp (Marvin); 5 grandchildren, Patrick Roseberry, Ginny Benick (Corey), Karisa Sons (Chad), Phillip Beach and Josh Beach; 5 great grandchildren, Judah Beach, Easton Pierce, Everett Sons, Evelyn Sons and Dean Benick; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Wilburn Roseberry; mother, Annie Mae Roseberry; brothers, Lloyd Roseberry, Alton Roseberry, Bill Roseberry and David Roseberry and his sister, Mary Katherine Roseberry. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Bro. Raybon Roseberry.
