Funeral services for Brenda Lee Essary , 66 of Corinth, MS, will be Friday, June 28th at Magnolia Funeral Home South on Hwy 45 South at 2:00 P M. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Magnolia Gardens. Pastor Jared Hight and Bro. Donnie Waldrop will officiate the service. Brenda went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. She was born March 28, 1958, to W.C. and Lula Essary. She attended Corinth City Schools. She was of the Baptist faith. Brenda was married to Mickey Essary. They had three children – Kristi, Melissa, and Anthony. The girls died in a tragic house fire in 1985. Brenda devoted her life to caring for Mickey and Anthony, who both received life-threatening injuries from the fire. After Mickey’s death in 1995, Brenda worked as a waitress in several restaurants in Corinth while caring for Anthony, who passed away suddenly in 2021. Brenda was a very hard worker. She worked for 13 years at Refreshments, Inc. She enjoyed working as a hostess at the Weaver Center for the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs. More recently, she worked at Corinth’s Coca-Cola Museum. Even though Brenda’s life was filled with tragedy, she always had a smile. She loved to laugh and have a good time. She enjoyed meeting new people and sharing memories of Corinth and her childhood. Brenda genuinely cared about people. She was always giving of herself to make others happy. She was preceded in death by her husband and three children, her parents, and her in-laws. Those who will carry on her memory include her brother, Don Essary and wife Charlotte; a special aunt, Linda Vandiver, who took care of Brenda during the later years of her life; her extended family and many close friends.
