Funeral services for Bobby Lee Mitchell, 81, of Corinth are set Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1:00pm at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Military Honors. Visitation is Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm and Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 12 noon until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Mitchell passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born on November 4, 1934 in Corinth, MS to the late Mazie and Charlie Mitchell. He served as the Justice Court Judge, Post 2 for 12 years, Fourth District Supervisor for 12 years and owned a wholesale car business. He attended Pleasant Hill Pentecostal Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Shiner’s International as well as the American Legion. Mr. Mitchell was also a veteran of the U. S. Army. His hobbies were fishing, riding his tractor, drinking coffee with his friends and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Alice Rickman Mitchell of Corinth, MS; daughter, Tammy Lee Mitchell Genovese of Corinth, MS; son, Monty Lynn Mitchell and wife Tracy of Hendersonville, TN; four grandchildren, Blake John Newberry, Nolan Ross Genovese , Kierren ReAnn Mitchell and Callie Mary-Alice Genovese; one great granddaughter, Brylee Harper Newberry; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mazie and Charlie Mitchell; brothers, Willie B. Mitchell, Radie C. Mitchell, Deb Mitchell and his sisters, Mae Henry Tice and Daisy Lee. Bro. Dewayne Kirk will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Nick Rickman, Steve Glidewell, Kevin Nelms, Stan Lee, Steve Ashe and Vic Bonds. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Wilbanks, Jerry Castleberry, Wayne Glidewell, James Yancey, Jerry Newcomb and the Former and Current Boards of Supervisors. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Pleasant Hill UPC/Building Fund, 1253 Hwy 2 West, Corinth, MS, 38834.
