Mr. Trimble passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born on August 19, 1946 in Booneville, MS to the late Auvern and Ernestine Trimble. He graduated from Thrasher High School in 1964 and later served the US Army in the Vietnam War. Mr. Trimble was a retired employee of ITT, where he made and had maintained friendships with countless individual. After retiring, Mr. Trimble dedicated his remaining time to woodworking, camping, visiting with friends and family, frequently traveling to The Great Smokey Mountains and simply enjoying life. But, more importantly, Mr. Trimble spent his most enjoyable time being a devoted husband, inspiring father, wise grandfather, and a faithful Christian. He was a true pillar of strength and support to his entire family. Billy Gale, Bill, Fuzz, Whistling Bill, Gale, Uncle Billy, Husband, Daddy, Poppie…These are a few of the names this great man had been known by. And, depending on the time in his life you met him, may depend on what you called him and what memories you had with him. As his years on this earth grew so did his names. In his childhood, brothers and sisters, friends and family referred to him as Billy Gale and Gale. Many of the friends that he made during these years were friendships he cherished throughout his life. A few years later, friends gave him the name Fuzz. Quite often, when he was called by his given name his acquaintances would correct one by saying, “you mean Fuzz?” And, Whistling Bill was a name given to him by coworkers who enjoyed hearing his sweet-sounding and perfect whistling as he worked at ITT. As his life prospered, the names became more meaningful as he began to be called Uncle Billy, Husband, Daddy, and Poppie. These were the names he liked to be called most of all. He and Beverly, wife of 4 years and companion of 31 were inseparable. The couple enjoyed traveling, especially to The Great Smokey Mountains, camping together with their friends, and attending family functions where they could visit with people they loved. He was a comforting, faithful and loving husband. His daughters, Laura and Liz, of course called him by the beloved name, Daddy. The girls called his name, “Daddy”, quite often as they knew whatever they needed, Daddy could do it! This precious man strived to be a perfect husband and father. Poppie was a name he earned. His father, Auvern was referred to by his grandchildren as Poppie, and upon the announcement of his grandson, he knew immediately that he wanted to be called Poppie, as well! His grandson, South, loved spending time with his Poppie but could not possibly fathom just how much he cherished his time with his grandson. He was a wise grandfather, always quick to find the good in any situation and help South see the lesson in everything. Whatever you may have known him as, one should be sure to know by a name given to him by our Lord and Savior, and that is Christian. He was given this most important name, by Grace, the Grace of God and was only given this name by surrendering to the will of God, through his son, Jesus Christ. Although his days are over in this place we call home now, his days have only just begun in heaven; for we know that for a Christian, to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. So, he’ll meet you in the morning, with a “how do you do?” and we’ll sit down by the river with rapture, auld acquaintance renewed Mr. Trimble is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters, Laura (Jimmy) Mayo of Michie, TN; Liz (Dewey Mincey) of Corinth; 3 grandsons, Brandon and Justin Mayo of Noxapater, MS and South Trimble Mincey of Corinth; brothers, Terry Trimble (Loretta Edmonson) of Pickwick, Mike Trimble (Cheryl) of Corinth; sisters, Judy Jourdan (Richard Doucette) of Pontotoc, Darlene Chittom (Danny Joe Hatifield) of Booneville and a host of many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Auvern and Ernestine(Nichols) Trimble, one brother, Danny Paul Trimble; maternal grandparents, Ward and Letha Nichols and paternal grandparents, Kellous and Mae Trimble. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Mayo, Dewey Mincey, David Wooten, South Mincey, George Martin and Robert Martin. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Bill Gale (Bill) Trimble.
