A Celebration of Life for Billy F. Marlar, 84, of Corinth, MS will be Friday, May 5, 2017 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with interment to follow at Farmington Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jason Pellizzer will officiate the service with eulogies by Nathan Marlar and Tiffany Marlar Kimbrow. Visitation will be Friday, May 5, 2017 from 12:00 noon until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Mr. Marlar died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 peacefully in his home. He was born August 16, 1932 to the late Mr. Alfred Marlar and Mrs. Lucille George Marlar. Mr. Marlar married his bride of 67 years, Mrs. Jo Anne Rogers Marlar on September 30, 1950 in Redbay, AL at First Methodist Church. Mr. Marlar was a faithful leader and member of First Assembly of God in Corinth, MS, led by Brother Jason Pellizzer. Mr. Marlar served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam conflict as a Technical Sergant. After returning home he was employed by the United States Postal Service in Corinth, MS for 20 years before retiring in 1998. He was the first volunteer fire fighter and one of the first four to start the Volunteer Fire Department in Farmington and was an honorary police officer of Farmington. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jo Anne Rogers Marlar: his sons, William Samual Marlar and Robert Franklin Marlar both of Corinth, MS; his six grandchildren, Tiffany Marlar Kimbrow, Nathan Samuel Marlar, Matthew William Marlar, Mary Beth Marlar, Laura Kate Marlar McNair and Shannon Nichole Marlar Hinds; six great-grandchildren; special caregiver, Janie Champion; other relatives and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Robb Marlar, Sam Marlar, Nathan Marlar, Matthew Marlar, Cody Hinds and Charlie Powers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Marlar, Jason Powers and Mark Champion. Magnolia Funeral home has been honored to serve the family of Billy F. Marlar.
