Funeral services for Billy Wayne DePoyster, 87, of Corinth are set for Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home – EAST with interment in Indian Springs Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 12pm-2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home- EAST. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Timleck, Orville King, Dennis DePoyster, David DePoyster, Bruce Harville and Natalie Renison. Bro. Warren Jones and Bro. Dennis Smith will officiate the service and Phillip Mauney will deliver the Eulogy. Born August 8, 1935 in Leedy, MS, Billy passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Stone Ridge Assisted Living. He was the owner of 5 Points Grocery and Billy’s Pawn Shop. Mr. DePoyster was a member of 1^st Baptist Church of Corinth and enjoyed gardening, yard work. He was very witty and loved a good joke. He loved to travel and had been to 49 states, most of those with his grandchildren while they were still in high school. He was a Police Officer in Memphis, TN for 8 years where he enjoyed serving the community. Billy is a 32^nd degree mason and Shriner. Those left to cherish Billy’s memory include his wife of 70 years, Grace Lehman DePoyster; daughters, Debbie DePoyster and fiancé Orville King and Susan DePoyster Timleck and husband Jimmy; 4 grandchildren, Phillip Mauney, Matthew Mauney (Heather), Amy Griffin and Chris Griffin (Whitny); great grandchildren, Mia Grace Griffin and Asher Griffin; brother, Cayce DePoyster (Reba); sister, Patricia DePoyster Nachbar; sister-in-law, Nelda DePoyster, other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, W. B. and Annie Nuel DeFoor DePoyster; brothers, W. B. Depoyster, Jr. (Dorothy) and Bobby DePoyster; sister, Inez Johnson (Allen) and his brothers-in-law, Don Harville and Don Nachbar. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to care for the family of Mr. Billy Wayne DePoyster.
