A gathering of family and friends for Betty Oaks, 93, of Corinth, MS is set for Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 5pm-7pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST. A private family burial will take place in Farmington Baptist Church Cemetery. Born September 10, 1930 in Indiana, Mrs. Oaks passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Tishomingo Living Center in Iuka. She worked for many years beside her husband at Lonnie's Sporting Goods and she was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda Potts and husband Keith of Chesapeake, VA; son, Tom Oaks and wife Sharon of Corinth; four grandchildren, Lee Oaks and wife Heather of Corinth; Katie Cooksey and husband Jonathan of Corinth, Sara Mackiewicz and husband Dan of Chesapeake, VA and Jeffrey Potts and wife Olivia of Bothell, WA; 9 great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lonnie Oaks; parents, William A. and Sarah Anna Stuffle Girdley; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
