Audie Skelton, 76, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Diversicare of Ripley, MS. He was born in Memphis, TN on November 20, 1943. Audie was former co-owner of Gattis Garage and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and watching sports and will forever be remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. A private Celebration of Life service honoring Audie will be held for the family at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Audie’s memory include his son, John Simonsen of Iowa City, Iowa; his daughter, Laurie Stevenson (Bob) of Racine, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren; his sister, Becky Earnest (Dan Westmoreland) of Verona; his nephew, Todd Earnest (Michelle) of Mantachie; a special friend, Amy Bowden; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Ann Skelton; his wife, Becky Skelton; his father, Armor Lee Skelton; his mother, Pernie Defoor Skelton Andrews; his step-father, L.M. “Shorty” Andrews; and his niece, Tracie Earnest.
