Arlas "Bo" Olen English, 89, of Guys, TN passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020 at his home in Guys, TN. Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 2020 from 11:00am until 2:00pm at Magnolia Funeral Home . The family request that mask and social distancing guidelines be followed. There will be a private family only service to follow with interment in Henry Cemetery. Born June 30, 1931 in Adamsville, TN., Bo was the owner of Charlies Truck stop, Jetties, and the Red Barn. He also worked at Brown Shoe factory in Selmer. He is one of the founding members of the Hatchie Bottom Boys. Bo has been playing Bluegrass music for 70+ years in the surrounding area. He is a well known Bluegrass musician in West TN and North MS and a member of the McNairy County Hall of Fame. Bo also loved to hunt, fish, the outdoors and camping. He is survived by his daughter, Rejaneia Morris and husband Bill of Guys, TN; 3 grandchildren, Brandon Forsyth and wife Kristi, Nathan Morris and wife Hannah and Dana Potts and husband Ben; 4 great grandchildren, Ruby Kate Morris, Halle Morris , Willow Potts and Walker Potts; brothers, Johnny English of Oregon, Jamie English and wife Ann of Hohenwald, TN; sisters, Dorothy Haynes of Jackson, TN and Edith Tucker of Athens, GA; sister-in-law, Kathy English of Corinth; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Bo is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Virdie Lee English; father, William Edward English; mother, Cladia Besada Varnell English; brothers, Arnold English and wife Imogene and Neil English and brothers-in-law , P.J. Haynes and Robert Tucker. Bro. Jeremy Arnold will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Roger Arnold, Billy Glidewell, Daniel Glidewell, Harold English, Larry Boggs and Joe Garrett.
