Anita Dodd

Anita Dodd, 89, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at her home. She was born in Union City, TN on August 17, 1929 to the late Clayborn and Ruth Williams Moore and graduated from Union City High School in 1947. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Corinth where she was involved in the writing ministry outreach program and an active participant in the weekly home delivery meal program. She also enjoyed serving in the MS State Home Extension Homemakers Club where she served as secretary/treasurer for a number of years and received various awards for her creative story writing skills. She had a rewarding career as a Human Resource Specialist for some 8 years with ITT and served as an executive secretary for 18 years at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. Throughout her life and after retirement she enjoyed her travels around the US and Cananda. Anita will forever be remembered in the hearts of her friends and family. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 pm Thursday, September 27th and from 10 am till service time Friday, September 28, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Anita’s life will be held at 11 am, Friday, September 28, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Pastor Dennis Smith and Pastor Kim Ratliff. Pallbearers include Adam Dodd, Eric Fleming, David Fleming, Taylor Cook, Carson Cook, and Jeffrey Williams. Interment will follow in Henry Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Anita’s memory include her sons: Tommy Dodd and wife Debbie of Knoxville, TN and Alan Dodd and wife Lee Ann of Corinth, MS; her grandchildren: Adam Dodd (Katie), Lindsey Dodd Williams (Jeffrey), and Carlie Dodd; her great-grandchildren: Logan Dodd, Emma Dodd, and Jack Williams; her brother: Jerry Moore of Arlington, TN; her sister: Linda Fleming of Germantown, TN; special caregivers: Sue Hite, Linda Rencher, and Tammi Stubbs; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Hoyt Dodd; her daughter: Margaret Ann Dodd; and her brother: Phillip Moore. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice. Online condolences may be expressed at magnoliafuneralhome.net.
