Angel McMahan

Angel McMahan, 81, of Walnut, MS passed away at her residence on Thursday, September 16, 2021. She was born in Alcorn County, MS on July 11, 1940 to the late Caleb and Elma Crum Bright. During her working career Angel worked at a medical specialist factory in Memphis, at James Mitchell Shirt Factory, at ITT for 20 years where she retired from. She battled breast cancer on and off for 30 years. Angel enjoyed working Sudoku puzzle books, playing with her great grandchildren, watching River’s dance lessons, recitals and Everly’s toddler antics. She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and will be remembered in the hearts of those she loved. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 pm Sunday, September 19, 2021at Mount Pleasant UMC. A Celebration of Angel’s life will be held at 11 am Monday, September 20, 2021 at Mount Pleasant UMC officiated by Rev. Larry Dollar. Pallbearers include Dennis Jones, Joey Jones, Todd Talley, Jimmy Tate Waldon, Bengee Bright. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Talley, Robert Bright, Johnny Jr. Crum, Clay Talley, Dustin Talley, Allen McMahan. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those left to honor Angel’s memory include her daughter, Evelyn Bright (Larry); her grandchildren, Candy Bright (Alan Smith) and Jordan Bright; her great grandchildren, Ben Russell, Krista Russell, River Smith, and Everly Smith; her brother, Paul Bright; her sister, Ann Bright; her sisters-in-law, Eva Mae Bright and Opal Bright; her brother-in-law, Johnny Crum; other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Vertie Nelson (J.D.), Elvie Crum (Dock), Cheerful Bobo (Pearl), Melba Talley (William), Earlene Bright, and Joyce Crum; her brothers, Hoover Bright and Harold Bright.
