Alvin Houston Rickman, Jr., 77, of Michie, TN, known by all who loved him as Jr., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. He was born in Alcorn County, MS on August 6, 1939 to the late Alvin Houston Rickman, Sr. and the late Mary Inez Rickman. A 1958 graduate of Farmington High School, Jr. served his country as an US Army veteran and spent most of his career working for ITT in Corinth where he was a supervisor. Jr. was a people person who loved everyone he met and was loved by everyone in return. He enjoyed traveling, watching NASCAR races and, unlike most men, even loved shopping. He always enjoyed a good meal with family and friends. Jr. served many years as a Sunday School teacher and was an avid reader of the Bible. He was a member of West Corinth Baptist Church. Visitation is scheduled for 5-8 pm, Thursday, January 5, 2017 and from 10 am till service time, Friday, January 6, 2017 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Jr.'s life will be held at 11 am Friday, January 6, 2017 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Bro. James Hardin, Tyler Freeman and Bro. Ben Martin. Interment with military honors will follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers include David Barbee, Tyler Freeman, John Lewis, Gilbert Yates, Douglas Rickman, Todd Welch, Richard Clausel and Shane Hodum. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Jr.'s memory include his wife of 33 years: Audine Stutts Rickman of Michie, TN; his brother: Reggie Rickman and wife Dannette of Corinth, MS; his nieces: Christy Welch and husband Todd of Corinth, MS, Allison Clausel and husband Richard of Corinth, MS and Marcie Morris of Leighton, AL; his nephew: Douglas Rickman and wife Tammy of Muscle Shoals, AL. Although Jr. had no children of his own, he is survived by many he claimed as his own who loved him as a father.
