Willie Alfred Duncan, 92, of Rienzi, MS, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born in Alcorn County, MS on October 22, 1924 to the late John and Dora Searcy Duncan. He was employed by Intex Plastics for 29.5 years and was of the Baptist faith. Visitation is scheduled for 5-9 pm, Monday, February 6, 2017 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Alfred's life will be held at 3 pm Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Bro. Raybon Richardson. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Alfred's memory include his wife of 67 years: Mergie Switcher Duncan of Rienzi, MS; his sons: Matthew Duncan and wife Jackie of Red Bay, AL and Danny Duncan and wife Kaye of Rienzi, MS; his daughters: Cathleen Praytor and husband Jerry of Cullman, AL, Joan Jones and husband Jessie of Rienzi, MS and Tina Godsey of Rienzi, MS; thirteen grandchildren: Bobby D. Smith (Delena), Christy Ellis (Kevin), Brian Michael, Joey Duncan, Angel Robinson (Kirk), Tonya Duncan (Paul), Heather Gann (Wesley), Whitney Jones, Kayla Garner (Ben), Allyson Gooch, Brittany Duncan (Bradley), Tiffany Godsey and Dawson Godsey; twenty-four great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; his brother: Harry Duncan of Rienzi, MS; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son: Jerry Duncan; his brothers: Leonard Duncan, Jasper Duncan and Lawrence Duncan, and his sisters: Sybil Dennis and Sara Duncan.
